The Connecticut Chapter of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nursing Association serves the state of Connecticut, as well as the beautiful Pioneer Valley in southern Massachusetts.

Chapter Introduction

Vanessa Hurta, DNP, is the current Chapter Leader of the Connecticut Chapter. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner practicing at the Aspetuck Health District, which is a local health department in Fairfield County, CT. She has worked in internal medicine, clinical lipidology and bariatric surgery practices as well as taught nursing in New York City. Currently, she is the Director of Clinical Services and is involved in many aspects of public health including travel medicine, community disease surveillance, emergency preparedness and chronic disease prevention.
