Get to Know Your Chapter Leadership Team!
The Freeport Chapter was started in 2015 by Mary Wedel and Diane Bardell. We wanted to offer an opportunity for cardiac nurses to have a chapter closer to home. Creating a local chapter has been a good opportunity for networking with nurses from the surrounding hospitals. Our goal is to promote and provide local community education and professional development of cardiac nurses.
Krista Montgomery, BSN RN, current chapter leader, has been a registered nurse for 10 years. She started her career on a telemetry unit and over the last 5 years has ran the Cardiac Rehab Phase II program, performed nuclear stress tests, and worked in the Cath Lab. Krista just recently accepted a position as the Cardiac Team Leader over Cardiac Services. She has been a member of PCNA for 5 years and presented at the 2023 PCNA conference as a poster project winner for an evidence based project pertaining to the over usage of telemetry monitoring.
