The chapter is currently led by Jennifer Ramsey MSN, RN, PCCN, RaeAnn Sabin, RN, and Sophia Sartorelli, BSN, RN.
Jennifer started her career in 2016 as a cardiac nurse at Munson Medical Center (MMC) in Traverse City, after graduating from the University of Michigan. Three years later, just before the pandemic, she left to work as a travel nurse from Washington to Rhode Island before returning home to Northern Michigan. While completing her MSN in Nursing Education at Penn State, she worked as an Adjunct Faculty for Northwestern Michigan College and in the MMC RN float pool. After competing her degree, she accepted the position of Resource Nurse Clinician for MMC’s Cardiac Telemetry unit and telemetry float pool RNs in 2023. She is passionate about nursing education, but when not working she enjoys hiking in northern Michigan or reading a good book.
RaeAnn started as a nurse in 2015 and became a cardiac nurse in 2016 at Munson medical center in Traverse City. She has been there for my entire nursing career. RaeAnn currently works as a patient care coordinator on a telemetry unit. She is also involved in their hospitals critical care and tele divisional councils as well as the hospitals shared governed council. She grew up outside of Cleveland and has lived in Traverse City a little over 20 years now. She enjoys hiking, traveling and cooking. RaeAnn has two daughters, 3 and 6, and has a loving partner who is also a nurse, but he is in administration at our hospital.
Sophia graduated from Northern Michigan University in May of 2020. She started her nursing career amidst a pandemic in Traverse City at Munson Medical Center where she developed a love for cardiac nursing and a passion for leadership. Currently she works as a travel nurse, which allows her to be closer to her fiancé who is in medical school. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and volunteering through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Cathy Scott-Lynch, RN, BSN, MSN, CCM, of the Michigan Education Special Services Association (MESSA), is the former Chapter Leader.
“I have been a nurse for 4 decades working in critical care and emergency medicine. I spent several years at the UHC and DMC clinics, ICU and I am pediatric ventilator trained for home care. I have spent several years working with dual diagnosis and substance abuse, as well as a certified case manager. I have also taught nursing students at the BSN university level. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given to learn and grow. I would love to team up with all my nursing colleagues as we learn and grow together.” – Cathy
Our mission in the Great Lakes chapter is to reach more nurses who make a difference in the lives of others and to give them the educational resources and tools they need as they continuing to care for others. We are the Great Lakes Chapter, and we know it requires “water” to grow. Come grow with us.
