For the past 41 years, Michelle Wood, MSN, RN, AGCNS-BC, RN-BC, has worked with the cardiovascular patient population. In 1991, she came to Parkview Health and worked as a bedside nurse with both the medical and surgical cardiovascular patients. She became the clinical educator for Parkview Heart Institute (PHI) in 2012 before transitioning into her current role as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), a position she’s held for the past 9 years. The rewards have been incredible. Whether she’s at the bedside with a patient, educating and mentoring nurses, conducting research, or facilitating change, she continues to grow and know this is where she needs to be.
